Google DNS

by Dan Perry on December 3, 2009

I have to admit – I didn’t see this one coming.  Google just launched a DNS service.

For the longest time OpenDNS has had this area in the bag.  I personally have been using OpenDNS at home for quite a while now.  I am withholding all judgment on Google at this point.  Their privacy terms are in place – and they are not redirecting bad queries.  The privacy area was my big concern.  The DNS servers seem to be way speedier than OpenDNS or Level3 (he has even included the shell script so you can test yourself).

Will you be changing your DNS settings?
