It seems on a day by day basis – I am getting more fed up with the capabilities of the Palm Pre. The slowness, the battery drain, the lock ups, the reboots, and . . . well.
Here go read this post over at PreCentral, Attack of the bugs: webOS 1.4
Just the fact that people are still seeing the error too many cards open – is annoying enough on its own. One of my biggest gripes is the now huge battery drain while on WiFi.
For most of the day my phone is on WiFi either at work or home. I commute 30 minutes both ways – so for an hour a day I am on the cell network.
Now before any of you get your granny panties in wads – I understand this is a first generation phone. But also understand – it is completely stock, with no 3rd party patches. I also will never understand why Palm doesn’t have a utility to backup your applications and everything else to the desktop. The over the air backup is nice – but I am just not trusting it.
One other thing that baffles me is the way apps are loaded/launched now. Before the upgrade you – clicked an app and it popped right up while loading it’s files/data. Now you get the splash screen and wait . . . wait . . . wait and then the app comes up. To be fair once the app does load – it’s ready to go – but the wait seems to take forever.
I see that Sprint is getting the Nexus from Google soon – but it seems to be plagued by problems as well. It pains me to admit it – but as soon as the iPhone shows up on Verizon on Sprint I am jumping.
